Provides both pyridoxine hydrochloride and pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P-5-P), the coenzyme or "activated" form of vitamin B6. As P5P, vitamin B6 is involved in the metabolism of amino acids, lipids and nucleic acids. P5P plays an important role in the metabolism of homocysteine, melatonin, and the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine, and epinephrine.* Vitamin B6 is required for the proper metabolism of amino acids and nucleic acids in the body.* Since 1979, NutriCology has used only the purest raw materials available, and has implemented strict quality control procedures in every stage of production, including inspection of raw materials, manufacturing, packaging, and storing.
